ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister of Information Fawad Chaudhry lambasted at the previous government of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) for running the affairs of state like ‘East India Company’.
From the floor of National Assembly on Tuesday, Fawad Chaudhry severely criticized the policies of former PML-N government for burdening country with heavy loans and making all future generations indebted.
The Minister underscored that the Punjab government requires eight billion rupees annually to run PML-N’s Metro project.
“Ishaq Dar and company are liable for deteriorating economic situation of the country,” Fawad said, while recalling that the whatever the last two governments did in their tenures, after that “financial aid is the only option we are left with.”
Those denouncing this last option should tell the alternate way forward, he stressed.
However, the Minister seconded with the charter of economy proposed by the Opposition.
The Federal Minister highlighted that the heads of every other department have inducted its own people in great numbers.
Challenging the PML-N, Fawad Chaudhry claimed “our one-month long performance would be parallel to year long performance of the erstwhile government.”
After swearing in as the chief executive of state, Prime Minister Imran Khan vowed to take drastic measures, including curtailing expenditure on the VVIP culture, to overcome the enormous economic challenges being faced by the country.
PM Khan had said, “we have to do away with traditional politicking and set a better example of good governance within limited expenditure, as otherwise the people would not forgive the PTI expressing their anger with more severity than the previous regimes.”
