MATIARI: Monday morning at least 18 members of a family, children and women were killed in a deadly road accident on the National Highway near Hala in Matiari district.
According to rescue officials, a trailer collided into a bus which was parked along roadside to change a punctured tyre, ultimately injuring nearly 30 people.
The injured were rushed to Liaquat University Hospital in Hyderabad where 18 victims were confirmed dead while some others are stated be in critical condition.
After learning about the accident, rescue teams immediately arrived at the scene and shifted the injured to the hospital.
The deceased were residents of Hyderabad and were returning from Sakrand after attending a wedding ceremony.
The identities of the deceased and injured couldn’t be established immediately.
Meanwhile, the local police have begun a probe to fix responsibility of the accident.
