ISLAMABAD: On Monday, the Senate passed a mutual resolution criticizing the horrific terrorist attack in Mastung which resulted in martyrdom of Mir Siraj Raisani, leader of Balochistan Awami Party (BAP), and 149 other innocent lives.
The resolution said Raisani was a brave and sincere Pakistani and the loss of his life was definitely unfortunate.
The House also expressed grave concerns on recent series of attacks on political parties in the run up to general election.
It pressed the Election Commission of Pakistan, federal and provincial caretaker governments to take measures for the protection of political parties.
The House also prayed for the departed souls and fortitude for the bereaved.
The resolution was tabled by Leader of the Opposition Senator Sherry Rehman on behalf of all the senators.
