The government has announced that, ‘The ongoing lockdown to extend for another two weeks to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus in the country.’
This was reported at a news conference after attending the meeting of the National Coordination Committee (NCC) on COVID-19 in Islamabad on Wednesday by Federal Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar, accompanied by PM’s Health Assistant Dr. Zafar Mirza and National Security Moeed Yusuf.
“Lockdown throughout the country is bearing fruit as number of cases would have been much higher if containment steps were not taken in a timely manner,” he said.
Speaking at the occasion, Dr Mirza summarized the number of cases, deaths and number of citizens tested for COVID-19 since the outbreak.
