The Sindh High Court has sought response from the Sindh government, mass transit department, and others with regard to the restoration of interprovincial transport and bus terminal in Karachi.
A lawyer for a group of transporters said that a huge financial loss was being incurred due to the suspension of transport services. He also requested the court to allow their private bus terminal to become functional.
The other group of transporters also filed a petition for restoring transport with proper SOPs in place.
Barrister Salahuddin Ahmed said that transporters had been allowed to operate buses from National Highway, Yousuf Goth, and RCDA bus terminals, adding that the roads remain blocked due to illegal bus terminals in the city.
The barrister insisted that the transporters with approved road permits be allowed to operate buses from specific bus terminals.
