Pakistan has taken decisive action on its territory against terrorist groups and its successes are far more than the US achievements in Afghanistan, parliamentarians said at a session of the upper house of Parliament on Tuesday.
The senators reiterated that the US must not hold Pakistan responsible for its own failures in Afghanistan, Radio Pakistan reported.
US President Donald Trump, in his policy speech on August 21, singled out Pakistan for supporting what he called “agents of chaos, violence and terrorism”.
On Sunday, Pakistan and the US discussed a proposal that seeks to evolve an “institutionalised framework” of cooperation to deal with the challenge posed by militant outfits on either side of the Pak-Afghan border.

The US, the senators said, should fulfill its commitments made for bringing peace in Afghanistan.
Those in attendance reasserted that there was no military solution to the Afghan conflict, calling for dialogue to bring peace and stability to the war-hit country.
The lawmakers emphasised the need to maintain unity in national ranks to face the domestic and foreign challenges, vowing that Pakistan will never accept Indian hegemony in the region.
