LAHORE: Mandla Mandela, the grandson of the late anti-apartheid hero, former South African president Nelson Mandela, arrived in Lahore on Thursday.
Mandla, who is a member parliament of South Africa, is on the visit to Pakistan on invitation of Dr Tahirul Qadri-led Pakistan Awami Tehreek.
According to the PAT representatives, the South African dignitary will attend PAT’s ‘Tajdar-e-Khatam-e-Nabbuwat Conference’. It is Mandla Mandela’s first visit to Pakistan after accepting Islam. Mandla is coming from Medina.
Speaking to media at the airport, he said: “I am very happy to come here.”
Mandla Mandela accepted Islam in 2016.
