Explosion in Afghanistan leaves at least 21 dead and 27 injured

At least 21 people have died, including an AFP Agency photographer, and 27 have been wounded in two attacks today in an area of central Kabul, an official source told Efe.

 

The affected area corresponds to the area of Shashdarak, near where the buildings of the NDS intelligence service are located. The police chief, Dawood Amin, said that the affected area includes offices of different international NGOs.

 

According to the first records, a motorcyclist would have blown himself up, after which there would have been a second explosion, leaving at least seven dead and 20 wounded, although the official number of victims after the attack is still not known. of four dead and eight injured.

The director of the capital’s hospital, Mohammad Mousa Zahir, said several people were injured by the explosion and are being treated at the hospital.

A week ago, a suicide attack on a voter registration center in western Kabul, claimed by the jihadist group Islamic State (IS), caused 69 deaths and injuries to about 120 people.
