A 22-year-old American woman, Tia Freeman, delivered her first baby alone in a hotel room of Istanbul, Turkey with the mere assistance of some Youtube videos.
On Tuesday, Tia, a member of U.S Air Force decided to share her incredible story of delivering her baby in the hotel bathroom all alone with the help of some Youtube videos. Tia being an Air Force member had found out about her pregnancy in January after nearly hitting the third trimester.
Despite knowing all this and being close to the term, the 22-year-old still decided to take a trip Germany in early March.
“I was in shock,” Freeman told media. “I never saw myself as a mom before. I was more career-oriented. That’s probably why I was in denial after finding out.”
I didn’t know I was pregnant for awhile (already in my 3rd trimester) and before you ask the birth control I was on made it so I didn’t have a cycle every month. So not having a period wasn’t an indicator for me. On top of that I didnt really gain any weight.

I make it to my hotel & now I’m sure I’m in labor. There is no way in the world I’m not in labor because I can barely standup at this point. On March 7, she took a 14-hour flight to Istanbul and on this overnight layover en route to Germany, she delivered her first baby in her hotel room.
Tia shared every little detail of her unique delivery on her twitter account and described how things happened. At first Tia thought she has had food poisoning from the flight’s food but later realized that she was about to deliver her first baby.
