ARY Films, Salman Iqbal Films and Six Sigma Plus’ latest release ‘Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2′ remained on top of box office for the third day by earning Rs15.7crores in total, media cited on Saturday.
Released on Eid-ul-Adha, the movie is running to crowded houses in Pakistan and abroad and managed to amass Rs10.16 crore at the local box office according to figures released after the third day of Eid.
A huge number of people watched the movie on Eid’s first and second day and their commendations gave the movie the biggest ever day three collection by any movie at the local box office.
The movie which was simultaneously released in US, UK and other parts of the world has also collected Rs5.54 crore at the international box office.
The movie- which also superseded the record of second day collection and became the first local production to collect Rs10Crore at the box office in just two days- has earned Rs15.7 crore worldwide in three days of Eid.
JPNA 2 is a sequel of 2015 blockbuster ‘Jawani Phir Nahi’ and has also turned a new chapter in country’s cinema history as it is being termed better than the first one by critics and fans alike.
Directed by Nadeem Baig and Written by Vasay Chaudhry, the films’s star cast includes Humayun Saeed, Kubra Khan, Fahad Mustafa, Mawra Hocane, Uzma Khan, Sarwat Gilani and Ahmed Butt. The romantic comedy takes place three years after the original JPNA ended.
The fun-filled movie is expected to break all previous records set by gems like Punjab Nahi Jaungiand Jawani Phir Nahi Ani as more and more people are jamming theaters to watch the romantic comedy both in Pakistan and across the globe.
