Malala prays for Pakistan’s peace, prosperity

LONDON: Nobel laureate Malala Yousufzai while felicitating the nation on Pakistan’s 72nd Independence Day prayed for the country’s peace and prosperity. 

In a tweet post, she said that she prayed for the country to live long, prosper and be peaceful.

Pakistan is celebrating 72nd Independence Day today with patriotic fervor as people of all age groups  across the country throng stalls to buy Independence Day merchandise to show patriotism.

The day dawned with a thirty-one gun salute in the federal capital and twenty-one gun salute in the provincial headquarters.

The main event of the day was a flag-hoisting ceremony at Jinnah Convention Centre in Islamabad. President Mamnoon Hussain was the chief guest on the occasion.
