ISLAMABAD: President Manmnoon Hussain has conferred military awards to the officers and soldiers of Pakistan Army, Navy and Air Force on the occasion of Independence Day for their services.
The awards were conferred at an investiture ceremony held at the Aiwan-e-Sadr attended by members of the armed forces and families of the martyred officers and soldiers.
The president has conferred two Sitara-i-Basalat, 59 Tamgha-i-Basalat, 34 Imtiazi Asnad, 156 COAS Commendation Cards, 17 Hilal-i-Imtiaz (Military), 77 Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military) and 106 Tamgha-i-Imtiaz (Military).
Colonel Sohail Abid (Shaheed) and Shoukat Khan (Shaheed) have been conferred with Sitara-i-Basalat for distinguished acts of gallantry.
Director General Inter Services Public Relations Major General Asif Ghafoor has been conferred with Hilal-i-Imtiaz (Military).
