The third and the last solar eclipse of the current year will occur today. According to Nasa, it is dangerous to see solar eclipses through naked eyes.
The solar eclipse will start at 1:02 pm (Pakistan State Time) and end at 4:21pm PST. A solar eclipse happens when the moon comes between the Earth and the sun, leaving its shadow on the planet.
The partial eclipse will be visible from most of Asia, far northern Europe, Iceland and Greenland, as well as from a slice of northern and eastern Canada.
The August 11 eclipse will also be the last eclipse — lunar or solar — of 2018. This will also be the third eclipse in less than a month.

The moon will cover approximately 73% of the sun when the eclipse is at its peak, according to Nasa.
The next partial solar eclipse will happen on January 6, 2019, and will be visible in the north Pacific and northeast Asia.
Nasa advises to use eye protection like special eclipse glasses should be used to witness the solar eclipse.
During a partial solar eclipse, there is no totality because the moon will only cover a portion of the sun, according to Nasa.
