KARACHI: Large swathes of the metropolis plunged into darkness as power supply was suspended owing to tripping of transmission lines, ARY News reported.
According to details, the areas of the city that witnessed power blackout included Tariq Road, Gurumandar, PECHS, Jamshed Road, Soldier Bazaar, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Lines Area, Saddar, Bahadurabad, Clifton, Korangi, Malir, Shadman Town and Lyari.
A spokesperson of K-Electric said power supply was suspended in some areas owing to tripping.
Efforts are underway to restore electricity supply to the affected areas as soon as possible, he added.
Power supply to few parts of Karachi is currently affected due to EHT tripping. Teams are fully mobilized & restoration process is underway with few affected areas already restored. We sincerely regret the inconvenience caused & thank you for your patience during this time.
