KARACHI: President Arif Alvi has expressed displeasure over the registration of FIRs against citizens for trying to obstruct the movement of his security protocol in Karachi.
FIR against the person protesting against security is ridiculous. When people are inconvenienced they do react.

A day earlier, the Shahrah-e-Faisal and Tipu Sultan police stations registered two separate cases considering complaints lodged by traffic police officers.
According to the FIR registered by the Shahrah-e-Faisal police, a citizen not only created hindrance to the newly elected president’s protocol on Shahra-e-Faisal on Saturday night, but allegedly prompted other citizens not to halt their vehicles so as to interrupt movement of President Arif Alvi’s convoy.
The man allegedly manhandled police personnel deployed for the president’s security and removed security barriers placed on the road.
Another FIR registered at the Tipu Sultan police station said some ‘FixI’t campaigners forcefully opened the road which was particularly closed for public entry. The FixIt workers had tried to “intervene” in the operation of the state.
According to the police, on September 16, citizens wearing shirts inscribed with ‘FixIt’ suddenly appeared near the Nursery Bus Stop on Shahrah-e-Faisal road. The individuals then tried to release traffic that was stopped by the police.
The cases were registered under the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) provisions that stipulate punishment for impeding official orders.
