PTI manifesto: PM Imran Khan to initiate’Pakistan Cleanliness Movement’ on 7th October

The Council of Common Interests (CCI) has directed the Higher Education Commission which was attended by chief ministers of all the four provinces and others, directed the Higher Education Commission to finalize its recommendations within a month for a countrywide uniform higher education system in coordination with federal and provincial governments.

Moreover, the members of the meeting discussed a seven-point agenda ranging from issues related to health, water and energy to discussion on launching a national cleanliness drive in the country.

Prime Minister Imran Khan will inaugurate the ‘Pakistan Cleanliness Movement’ on October 7.

The countrywide cleanliness drive is part of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf manifesto.

The meeting presided over by the Prime Minister Imran Khan also directed HEC to formulate a strategy for the uplift of educational institutions.

Prime Minister Khan urged the provinces to work in harmony with one another in order to settle all pending disputes between the Centre and the provinces. He assured the provinces that the federal government would meet their just demands without wasting any time.

The provinces and the Centre agreed over the implementation of AGN Kazi formula on the net-hydel profits. K-P and Punjab have asked for extra money as hydel profits. The matter has been referred to a committee to work out modalities in this regard.

It also directed the HEC to formulate a strategy for the uplift of educational institutions.

The CCI constituted a committee under the Minister for Inter-provincial Coordination to formulate recommendations on devolution of Employees Old Age Benefits Institution and the Workers Welfare Fund to the provinces.

The prime minister, in his remarks on the occasion, stressed the need for improvement of educational standard in Balochistan and directed the HEC to take measures in liaison the provincial government.

He told the meeting that the services of Shaukat Khanam Hospital would be extended to Balochistan for the provision of healthcare facilities, particularly, the diagnosis of cancer.

The prime minister ordered establishment of a comprehensive and transparent mechanism for water distribution among the provinces and the provision of timely updates to the provinces.

It decided to launch a nationwide “Pakistan Cleanliness Movement” that would be inaugurated by Prime Minister Imran Khan on 7th of next month.
