LAHORE: The Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz made an important decision on Sunday regarding the chairmanship of the Public Accounts Committee.
The government is willing to accommodate any opposition candidate as the chairman of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC), even if he or she belongs to PML-N, except its chief Shehbaz Sharif and his close aides.
The former ruling party has concluded that in case it fails to gain chairmanship of the PAC then it will pull out all its members from the other committees.
Ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf is not in favor of someone from the opposition holding the chairmanship of PAC.
The PML-N members however, will not be a part of any committee.
On September 25, a session of the PML-N had decided to name party President Shehbaz Sharif as its candidate for chairman PAC.
The Federal Minister for Information, Chaudhry Fawad Hussain, on Saturday said making Opposition Leader Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif the Public Accountability Committee (PAC) chairman would be like letting a cat watch over milk.
