The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government on Monday imposed a ban on male guests along with media and social media coverage of functions/programmes held at government girls’ schools in the province.
The circular by the provincial government placed a ban on male dignitaries taking part in functions/festivals at government girls’ schools as chief guests. “No male minister, member of Parliament, member of provincial assembly or officer shall be invited to the girls’ school as chief justice,” the circular read.
Wow, the PTI KP government has placed a gag order on all coverage (even on social media) of events in girls' schools. If you're a girl student in KP & have talents or achievements, you will not be allowed to receive any public recognition, because of segregation requirements. pic.twitter.com/mNBsx9x7G4

The provincial government states that female members of parliament, provincial assembly and officers would be chief guests at girls’ schools.
According to the circular, events held at girls’ schools would not be aired on social media and there would be a complete ban on media coverage.
The decision has been widely criticized on social media.
Ziauddin Yousafzai, father of Malala Yousafzai in a tweet asked Prime Minister Imran Khan if this was the “Naya Pakistan” which he had promised.
Dear PM @ImranKhanPTI,
Is this the “Change” and “Naya Pakistan” you promised us?
