PTI likely to hand out Senate election ticket to Jehangir’s sister Seemi Ezdi in order to contest poll on November 15

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Wednesday announced that it would hand out a ticket to party supremo Jehangir Tareen’s sister for a Senate slot up for grabs, media reported.

The ruling party has decided to field Seemi Ezdi from a Punjab seat in the Senate election.

It is pertinent to mention that at least 11 PTI women, including Firdous Ashiq Awan, Nargis Jabeen, Nida Rehman, Rukhsana Bhatti, Sima Anwaar, Asma Badar, Noreen Farooqui, Irum Bukhari, Dr Zarqa and Sara Ahmed have submitted applications to contest the Senate election from Punjab.

After deliberation among party leaders the go ahead to hand the ticket to Tareen’s sister was given.

The Senate election for the slot will take place on November 15 with the seat falling vacant after Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Saadia Abbasi was disqualified.
