ISLAMABAD: Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Malkiy on Friday called on Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser in Islamabad.
The meeting that took place in the Parliament House, discussed the matters of mutual interest between the two Islamic countries.
Expressing his views, the speaker national assembly said “Pakistan enjoys brotherly and close ties with the Kingdom.
Mr Qaiser said Saudi Arabia always extended its full support to Pakistan and backed it to come out of crises and stood by its side in “rainy days”.
Pakistan feels proud over its friendship with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, he continued.
The Saudi envoy, Nawaf bin Saeed said ” the King [Shah Salman] has special regard for Pakistan and he respects Kingdom’s ties with Islamabad.”
The Ambassador extended every possible support to Pakistan on behalf of Saudi Arabia during the meeting with the speaker of the national assembly.
Yesterday, Mr. Nawaf Saeed in a short TV interview, had said that Pakistan would have the first installment of Saudi aid amounting to $3 billion in the next few days to tackle its balance-of-payments crisis.
The envoy confirmed that the Saudi government would provide deferred payment facility for the import of oil, worth up to another $3 billion.
Nawaf Saeed said that besides this aid, the Kingdom would like to invest in the power sector of Pakistan, adding “we were also seeking to set up a petrochemical industry near Karachi”.
He also hinted about an investment in the Reko Diq gold and copper mining project.
