SP Tahir Dawar’s old video goes viral on social media

PESHAWAR: A day after he was laid to rest in Peshawar, one of martyr SP Tahir Dawar’s old videos went viral on social media, ARY News reported.

The video, seen by thousands on different social media platforms, shows the martyred cop trying to persuade some of Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement (PTM) activists to end their protest and explaining to them about the many conspiracies being hatched against Pakistan by some of its enemies.

“Pakistan, especially Peshawar, is the target of these international conspirators and they want death and destruction (in this country),  India and Afghanistan are behind all these conspiracies and bloodshed,” Tahir Dawar can be seen saying in the video.

He can be seen reminding the protesters about the sacrifices of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) police and threats to his own life from such elements.

“Agencies like RAW (Indian intelligence agency) are trying to destabilize Pakistan and their target is CPEC,” Dawar had said.

Dawar, who was kidnapped from Islamabad’s G-10/4 area on Oct 26, was murdered in Afghanistan and his tortured body was found in Dur Baba district of Nangarhar province in Afghanistan on November 14.

Afghan authorities handed over the mortal remains of the martyred cop to a Pakistani delegation at Torkham border crossing this evening after which the body was brought to Peshawar.

It was also reported that the Afghan officials refused to hand over the mortal remains of the cop to a Pakistani delegation led by Minister of State for Interior Shehryar Afridi who arrived at the Torkham Gate to receive his body and were adamant that they will only hand over his body to a jirga comprising tribal elders and PTM MNA Mohsin Dawar.

Pakistan Army and Foreign Office expressed reservations over the inordinate delay and manner of return of the body.
