KARACHI: Ali Raza Abidi “lay back, to his side, with blood dripping down the right side of his neck”, the security guard of the former MNA said Wednesday.
Abidi, who was laid to rest earlier in the day after being assassinated the night prior, was shot more than once by one of the two assailants who had followed his car to his home.
Ali Raza Abidi was reportedly going back home earlier than usual in order to take his family out for a dinner plan.
“I had opened only one of the doors when I heard the gunshots. I left that gate to go back … and the second door wasn’t open at that time,” the guard said.
“The car had halted and I tried to fire but it did not go off,” he added.
The guard added that Abidi was on his side after being hit and as soon as the gunmen had fled.
“He lay back, to his side, with blood dripping down the right side of his neck, when I saw him,” the guard noted, indicating with his hands and body how Abidi was in the car after being shot.
