KARACHI: The Department for Schools Education extended the duration for winter vacation owing to the extremity of winters in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to a notification issued, the schools across Punjab would now reopen on January 7 instead of January 1.

Due to severe cold the winter vacations (in summer zone) has been extended till next Sunday and all government schools (in summer zone) shall re-open on next Monday 7 January 2019

Meanwhile KP Chief Minister Mahmood Khan also increased the duration of vacations, with schools reopening on January 7.
A wave of cold has gripped the country. Schools in KP and Punjab were to resume educational activities on January 1, 2019.
