Salman Butt replaces Qalandars injured captain Hafeez

Former Pakistan captain, Salman Butt has been picked by Lahore Qalandars to replace their injured captain, Mohammad Hafeez for the remainder of Pakistan Super League’s fourth season.

Mohammad Hafeez suffered a thumb injury during their game against Karachi Kings on Saturday that will require at least three weeks to recover, as a result, he will miss the rest of the PSL.

Lahore Qalandars have opted to pick Pakistan’s left-handed opening batsman Butt, who has been out of action since his involvement in spot-fixing during Pakistan’s tour to England in 2010, for which he was banned for 10 years initially, but it was reduced to eight years afterwards.

It will be the first season of Pakistan Super League for the stylish left-handed batsman.

In the absence of captain Hafeez, South Africa’s batting maestro, AB de Villiers will lead Lahore Qalandars during the Pakistan Super League 2019.

Lahore Qalandars will take on Multan Sultans on Friday at Sharjah, while they will face Quetta Gladiators on Saturday at the same venue.
