Banners put up against Darul Sehat hospital on Karachi streets

Darul Sehat Hospital

KARACHI: Amid public outrage over wrong medication to a toddler by Darul Sehat Hospital medics, banners demanding action against the private medical facility have been put up on the streets in Karachi’s Gulsitan-e-Jauhar area, ARY News reported.

The banners inscribed with slogans “Begair Licence Ke Hospital Band Karo” (Shut down hospital having no licence), “Qasab Khana Nae Chalega” (A slaughterhouse won’t be allowed to work), and “Zinda Laen, Murda Le Jain” (Bring [people] alive, take away dead)” emerged overnight on the streets of the locality.

According to sources, the management of Darul Sehat hospital was pressurising Nishwa’s father for a compromise on administration of wrong injection to her daughter.

Nishwa was brought to Dar ul Sehat hospital last week where an overdose of Potassium Chloride had severely affected her brain, leaving her nearly brain-dead.

She is currently under treatment at Karachi’s Liaquat National Hospital.

Sources said Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Pakistan leader and owner of Darul Sehat hospital Amir Waliuddin Chishti along with another political personality arrived at Liaquat National Hospital along with the hospital management to meet father of Nishwa.
