GUJRANWALA: Minister Housing and Urban Development Punjab Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed on Saturday repudiated the reports about substituting the Punjab chief minister, ARY News reported.
“The prime minister has no such thing in his mind regarding replacing Usman Buzdar. The Punjab chief minister is not being replaced,” Mehmood-ur-Rasheed said while talking to media in Gujranwala.
He said propaganda was being carried out about reshuffling in Punjab. No changes would be made in Punjab prior to the upcoming budget, he said.
The minister said it amounted to defamation of the prime minister to say that decisions were taken somewhere else.
Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and former president Asif Ali Zardari had played their innings, he said.

Mehmood-ur-Rasheed said a survey was conducted in Gujranwala for construction of houses for poor. He said the construction work for houses would begin after Eid.
On April 19, Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on Information and Broadcasting Firdous Ashiq Awan had said that for the ‘first time’ ‘any prime minister’ had reshuffled the cabinet in the public interest.
Speaking in the ARY News programme Aitraaz Hai hosted by Adil Abbasi on Friday, Awan had said changes were always for good, and one should always embrace them happily.
“Some decisions need to be taken in the wider interest of the nation and the public and the prime minister is ready to take any step for the welfare of people,” she had said.
