Kit Harington is seeking professional help to deal with some personal issues.
“Kit has decided to utilize this break in his schedule as an opportunity to spend some time at a wellness retreat to work on some personal issues,” his publicist said in a statement to Variety magazine.
The actor, who has portrayed Jon Snow on the acclaimed HBO series for the past 10 years, entered a “luxury rehab for stress and alcohol use” in Connecticut which costs over $120,000 per month,” sources wrote.
The emotional toll of the decade-long show may have been the major reason that caused Kit to seek help. Documentary The Last Watch which also released Sunday showed Harington in disbelief upon finding out that his character Jon Snow kills his onscreen love Daenerys Targaryen played by Emilia Clarke.
“Thrones, it’s given me possibly my future family. It’s given me my wife, it’s given me friends for life. It’s got a character I love, I will love, more than any other character I’ll ever play,” Harington told sources last month.
“There isn’t a way of saying thank you to it enough. There never will be and I think that comes back to the question of, ‘How do you feel now that it’s finishing?’ Well, there aren’t words to describe how I feel about it,” he said.
