On Thursday, Saudi Arabia suspended people’s entry for Umrah and tourism from countries where the new coronavirus has spread, as a rising number of cases outside China increased worries of an epidemic.
The oil-rich country welcomes millions of Muslim visitors throughout the year.
The ministry of foreign affairs said that the suspensions were impermanent but provided no timeframe for their expiration.
Entry is also put off for visits to Masjid-e-Nabvi in Madina.
