In an unprecedented development, the Sindh government in Karachi has developed a first drive-through coronavirus test facility that will allow suspected patients with coronavirus to get themselves tested without waiting in long hospital queues.
“This initiative is part of our war against coronavirus and we have been facing huge demand for coronavirus testing,” Minister of Local Body Sindh Nasir Hussain Shah said Tuesday while speaking to the media.
Sindh has reported over 600 cases of coronavirus with eight deaths thus far, and authorities are trying to scale up their testing capacity which is the most effective way of curbing the spread of transmissible disease in addition to social distance.
Explaining the process for availing the state-of – the-art facility, the provincial minister said that citizens would have to book the COVID-19 test appointment and “only those who are being issued code numbers can undergo the screening”.
