In a Pakistan Social and Living Standards Measurement (PSLM) survey, more than 84 per cent of households reported being food secure while 16 pc households are facing mild or severe food insecurity in Pakistan overall.
The PSLM survey report 218-19, conducted by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (FBS), covered 25,940 households across rural and urban communities to collect data from facilities and services on a variety of social sector issues — education, health, and food security.
The calculation of food security is for the first time included in the report. It was further revealed that in rural areas moderate to severe food poverty is higher contrasted with urban areas.
