Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has promised to ‘rationalize’ their rates following customer complaints that they are overcharged for special flights.
The PIA’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Air Marshal Arshad Malik, held the assurance that he would investigate the assertion of excess based on the high operational costs associated with these flights.
Recently, the national flag carrier has faced concerns about high fares and at a meeting in Islamabad, Ghulam Sarwar Khan, the aviation minister, took up the issue with the CEO.
The Minister for Aviation had inquired about the fares. In addition, the CEO had clarified that because most flights were ferry flights or flew with a small number of passengers due to the government’s ceiling, to make these flights economically viable, they were paid marginally higher fares.
