Indian cricketers Yuvraj Singh and Harbhajan Singh came under fire after announcing that they would donate to the organization of Shahid Afridi to fight against Covid-19.
The two stars of India’s 2011 World Cup, were unwittingly trapped among cricket fans in the midst of a twitter war. The champions had posted their decisions on Twitter and were met with plenty of criticism.

Afridi thanked the players for their support and also had a short note about love reaching beyond boundaries.
Thank you for all you support-both yourself & my brother @harbhajan_singh are huge pillars of support; this bond we have shows love & peace transgresses borders when it comes to humanity especially. Best wishes to you with your noble endeavours with @YOUWECAN #DonateKaroNa https://t.co/IVhqywdl3q

Yuvraj Singh responded to the uproar, expressing his dismay at first receiving the vitriol.
“I really don’t understand how a message to help the most vulnerable gets blown out of proportion! All I tried to achieve via that message was to help people in our respective countries by providing healthcare,” wrote Singh. My intention was not to hurt anyone’s feelings. I’m an Indian and I will always bleed blue and will always stand for humanity.”
