Turkey will lift intercity travel restrictions and allow restaurants, cafes, parks and sports facilities to reopen from June 1 as it relieves the restrictions imposed to curb the outbreak of coronavirus, President Tayyip Erdogan said.
Museums and beaches are also scheduled to open from June 1, Erdogan said after a meeting with the cabinet. He said limits on the movements of those over 65 years old and under 18. will remain in effect.
The virus has killed nearly 4,500 people in Turkey, with more than 160,000 infections.
“Under the new normal order, let us not neglect masks, distancing and hygiene,” Erdogan said in a televised address.
