ISLAMABAD: Minister of Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Asad Umar said on Monday that during the month of June, the federal government would provide 1,000 oxygenated beds to the provinces to cope with the rapid rush in large city hospitals due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Talking to media people at the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) after chairing a meeting to review the situation of Covid-19, he said in July more beds would be provided to hospitals across the country.
Umar said the provinces would also provide needed help from the federal government.
Last week, he said provinces had been provided with 250 ventilators and additional beds. A comprehensive incentive package would also be finalized soon for healthcare workers, he added.
