RAWALPINDI: The government decided to extend the permit for domestic flights to and from six of the country’s airports until 31 Aug.
A notification has been given by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) to airmen about the extension of permission to operate domestic flights until August. Authorization in this respect was granted earlier until June 30.
The CAA’s NOTAM states that Pakistan’s government is pleased to approve restricted domestic schedule and chartered passenger flight operations between Karachi, Islamabad, Lahore, Peshawar and Quetta airports only in compliance with established protocols — Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) — and prior authorization from the competent authority. However, operation of domestic flights to and from Gilgit and Skardu airports at Islamabad International Airport would continue as normal operation.
It further said that the domestic schedule and the operation of chartered passenger flights from all other airports will remain suspended. The CAA’s NOTAM further claimed that all airports will have domestic flight operations.
