ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has issued a schedule for the by-poll on the Punjab Assembly seat, PP-38 Sialkot, as nomination papers would be received from June 07, ARY NEWS reported on Friday.
According to details shared by the ECP, the by-poll on PP-38 Sialkot would be held on July 28 and the nomination papers could be submitted with the election body between 7-10 June.
The initial list of the candidates will be issued on June 11 and scrutiny of the nomination papers will continue until June 18. “The candidate could file an appeal against the scrutiny process conducted by the Returning Officer by June 22,” the ECP said adding that the candidates would be allotted election symbols on July 01.
The seat has fallen vacant after the demise of Choudhary Khush Akhtar Subhani, who was affiliated with Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
Meanwhile, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Thursday announced the start of its preparations for local body elections in Sindh.

The ECP has set up committees for the delimitation of constituencies. A three-member committee would be formed in every district while the district election commissioner will be the convener of the committee.
According to a notification, the committees will also prepare recommendations for delimitations.
The objections on delimitations can be file at the regional election commissioner office while the regional election commissioner will hear objections, reads the notification.
