RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Wednesday directed the corps commanders to continue consolidating gains made in efforts against terrorism and militancy.
He presided over the 122nd Corps Commanders Conference in Rawalpindi where he expressed satisfaction over progress on military level engagements with Afghanistan for regional peace through Afghanistan Pakistan Action Plan for Peace and Stability (APAPPS).
The conference reviewed geo-strategic environment, regional peace and internal security situation of the country.
It appreciated Army Elections Support Center (AESC) and field formations for assisting the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) in the conduct of the July 25 elections. The moot paid tribute to all martyrs who sacrificed their lives during the election process.
It also thanked the people of Pakistan for their participation and wholehearted support to the armed forces during their duties towards the national cause.
