Referring to the apex court’s decision in a suo motu case against the lease of railways land, Rasheed said, “This day is one of the biggest days in the history of Railway and the Railway workers are grateful to Chief Justice Saqib Nisar,” for resolving a matter which was stuck for last ten years.
It is pertinent to mention here, today a Supreme Court bench nullified all orders of the Lahore High Court (LHC) in railway land case and remarked, “We are imposing a ban on an over 3-year lease of railways’ agricultural land and the construction of housing societies on railways land.”
The top court has also dissolved the administration of Royal Palm Country & Golf Club after seizing their records.
