The Gwadar Port, which is a major project under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), is performing well despite the prevailing COVID-19 pandemic.
The statement came in response to a report from the Global Times that inferred that Chinese teams couldn’t even return to their posts in the midst of the pandemic that halted many Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) programs.
It is important to note that a significant number of BRI projects recruit a limited number of Chinese personnel and rely on local staff for the majority of roles.
There are two Chinese workers at Gwadar Port, and 140 Pakistani employees, according to the latest head count.
