KARACHI: Reportedly, Karachi’s South District administration has decided to tighten the lockdown in the Defense Housing Authority (DHA) and old city areas such as Saddar and Lyari, in the wake of the past few days’ reports of violations.
It was discussed at a meeting chaired by South Deputy Commissioner Irshad Sodhar, attended by district senior police officers and senior medical consultants.
The local administration also decided to create a 100-bed isolation center at Lyari General Hospital to treat Covid-19 patients. In addition, in the next phase, four more isolation centers will be set up at the Dr Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital.
Moreover, lady health workers’ assistance is also being sought in carrying out door-to-door tests and raising awareness about safety initiatives.
